Email Lawmakers to Support SB1374 by 12pm Tuesday

Senate Bill 1374 is an important bill that will make childcare more affordable for working Idaho families. The bill will be heard tomorrow at 3 PM in the Senate Health & Welfare Committee. Legislators need to hear from Idahoans in support of the bill before noon tomorrow.

SB 1374 takes two important steps to strengthen access to childcare. It raises income eligibility for the Idaho Child Care Program (ICCP) from 130% to 155% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines, helping more families afford licensed care, and codifies the program in Idaho statute, ensuring it has clear legal authority moving forward. When families lose child care assistance, many are forced to withdraw from licensed care, rely on unsafe arrangements, or leave the workforce. SB1374 helps stabilize childcare access for families while supporting Idaho’s workforce.

Please take one minute to email your legislators and ask them to vote YES on SB 1374.

You can also show your support in person. Testimony will be taken during the hearing tomorrow at 3 PM in the Senate Health & Welfare Committee at the State Capitol. Please check the agendas here to ensure time and location, as they are subject to change last minute. If you’re able, attending the hearing or signing up to testify is another powerful way to support Idaho families and childcare providers.
